Course Details

The Brisbane Food Safety Supervisor Course teaches you the skills and knowledge necessary to safely store, prepare, display, dispose of, and serve food. In this course, you will learn to follow a set of predetermined procedures required by the food safety program.

The Brisbane Food Safety Supervisor Course applies to all food preparation establishments, whether permanent or temporary or just having a small food preparation area. These establishments include cafes, restaurants, hotels, clubs, functions, attractions, tour operators, events, attractions, conference catering, and exhibitions. It is also helpful in less prominent settings such as aged care facilities, hospitals, educational institutions, correctional centres, and defence forces. Even smaller food-orientated services such as canteens, kiosks, residential catering, fast food outlets, and in-flight and other transport catering require food safety skills.

The safe handling of food is typically based on practices carried out by an individual organisation. This program is based on the HACCP or hazard analysis and critical control points method but can also be applied to other food safety systems. This course is highly beneficial, if not essential, for those directly interacting with food in their day-to-day work. Such vocations include chefs, cooks, kitchen hands, caterers, and food and beverage attendants.

Food handlers must comply with the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code requirements.
